OSMOS was initiated in 1997 as a project space in Berlin, and has since developed into a fully integrated concept for curatorial and editorial activities.

OSMOS is currently located at 50 East 1st. Street in a Manhattan East Village storefront that was once a saloon frequented by Emma Goldman and other radicals.

OSMOS is composed of multiple operational components, with the key three being: OSMOS Address (Project space and operational headquarters); OSMOS Publishing (Quarterly Print Magazine and Artists Monographs); and managing the Estate of Gretchen Bender.
